- Musicians will be able to set their own subscription price and sell NFTs
- The new version of the platform will be open to artists on March 15
- All audio content will be combined on the platform
- Creators will receive 85% of income
Winamp plans expand new version of the music platform. In the era of streaming platforms, the company will offer a solution to one problem in the music world: fair rewards for artists.
One of the developers of the project stated:
“While streaming platforms have made it easier for artists to reach a wider audience, the revenue from them is still minimal. They lack control over how their compositions are presented and marketed.”
Winamp plans to address this issue. They will create a Fanzone space that will offer artists the opportunity to take advantage of new permanent sources of income. Creators will be able to sell subscriptions designed for their fans with custom tiers and prices.
Artists will have exactly one month to package their profile. On March 15, the site will be opened for composers, and on April 15 for fans. Fans will be able to support their favorites, and for this they will receive unique access to Winamp Fanzone. Also, all audio content will be collected in the fan zone: music, podcasts, radio stations, audio books.
Thus, with the help of the service, artists will regain control over their careers. In addition to subscriptions, features such as digital distribution, copyright management, and an NFT marketplace with special Winamp Original contracts will be released before the end of June.
The main principle of Winamp is fairness. Therefore, the service offers creators 85% of the income received from the publication of content, the sale of NFTs, copyrights. The convenience of this platform will bring together millions of users.
