Social network VKontakte plans to introduce NFT to monetize user content and protect copyrights. Such information reported technical director of the social network Alexander Tobolya.
He said that VKontakte plans to become an intermediary and assistant without creating its own blockchain. The social network will use its own Content ID system, which is already used to verify the authorship of downloaded music and videos.
“The main thing in this story is trust in the uniqueness of the content. But if you supplement it through Content ID – a guarantee that this content is unique on this site or all over the world – then in general it belongs to you by copyright, ”explained Tobol.
In addition, Tobolya called the initiative “a universal super-cool solution for authors that opens up a whole new world.” But for implementation, a guarantee of uniqueness and copyright in the territory of various countries is needed.
“I think that in a few years everything will change dramatically,” Tobol said.
Recall that the other day NFT-marketplace Cent suspended trading due to sales of copied and fake tokens from users who do not have rights to the content.
