- He does not send large amounts and does not advise others
- The reason for this opinion lies in the nature of multi-signature
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin declared, which does not stake Ethereum a large number of coins. He is unsure about the security of multi-signature-backed funds.
The businessman voiced his opinion during an episode of the Bankless podcast:
“If ETH is hard, the keys to access it must be publicly available on the online system. For security reasons, they must be configured as multisig. Multisig for staking is still quite difficult to set up; it introduces many risks and difficulties.”
For this reason, the Ethereum co-founder stakes only a small fraction of his Ether.
Buterin’s comments shocked the crypto community and competitors from other ecosystems. Charles Hoskinson of Cardano even clarified that he has staked all of his ADA coins:
Buterin also discussed the EigenLayer protocol, which allows Ethereum validators and stakers to re-stake their assets on other emerging networks. This protocol is currently in the testing phase. It is scheduled to launch in the 3rd quarter of 2023.
Buterin said the main problem with EigenLayer is the risk of centralization. Therefore, it is now important to set limits that will benefit the ecosystem and prevent all threats.
The other day, Vitalik Buterin commented on what will happen to Ethereum after the ban on many competitors in the US.
