- The team turned to cyber detectives
- And announced a reward to those who help find the criminal
DeFi project Jimbos has reached out to the US Department of Homeland Security in New York to help track down the hacker. This branch is the center of cybercrime investigations using blockchain.
Recall that on May 28, Jimbos Protocol lost $7.5 million in ETH. The perpetrator exploited a vulnerability in the flash lending mechanism and manipulated price slippage when exchanging assets.
Previously, the team offered the hacker to return 90% of what was stolen and gave a couple of days to make a decision. But never received an answer.
During this time, the developers have identified the exploit, they will soon publish an analysis of the attack. The project will also update the version of the protocol and present a compensation plan for the victims of the hack.
“We started working with various law enforcement agencies – we opened a case in the New York office of the Department of Homeland Security, and now we are opening cases in other jurisdictions”
The New York department of the Department of Homeland Security has already identified and arrested quite a few cybercriminals. Team Jimbos surethat in their case there will be an equally successful ending.
Intruder: We warned you. We’d like to give you an award and focus on protocol. Now we have turned to law enforcement to find you.”
The team also promised $800,000 to anyone who can help find the hacker or point the way to the return of stolen funds.
