Yesterday, March 14, the Polygon Labs official blog posted notification about the partnership agreement with Unstoppable Domains. As part of this deal, blockchain users will be able to create .polygon domains.
What is it and why is it needed? The domain name allows you to replace the wallet address with a short phrase. This greatly simplifies the authorization and confirmation of transactions.
Such “digital identifiers” are compatible with approximately 750 applications, Unstoppable Domains claims. They can be tied to a profile for convenient and quick confirmation of identity or, for example, self-expression.
This is how Sanket Shah, Vice President of Business Development at Polygon Labs, commented on the agreement:
“Web3 domains provide our community with a digital identity solution that is entirely under the control of users. This is an opportunity to log in to any decentralized application without disclosing your data, as well as to conduct cryptocurrency transactions faster and more efficiently.”
.polygon domains will go on sale on March 16th. Shortly thereafter, Unstoppable Domains will bid on the best “names” such as gamer.polygon.
