The US Space Force station at Cape Canaveral plans to use robops to patrol and automate certain security tasks. Writes about it Gizmodo.

On July 27, 2022, the military held a demonstration of the devices, and later released several pictures showing staff operating two robotic dogs at the station.

According to the Space Force, the devices are designed for “manual and repetitive tasks” as well as “damage assessment, patrolling and saving a significant number of man-hours.”

The robots are made by the Philadelphia-based company Ghost Robotics.

“They are unstoppable, able to quickly get up after any slip, fall or failure and keep moving using our patented blind operations,” the developers said.

Robops are equipped with visual and auditory sensors, can be controlled by a person or work autonomously.

In November 2020, the same devices began to be used by the US Air Force.

“These robotic dogs will be used as an amplifier to increase situational awareness by patrolling areas that are undesirable for people and vehicles,” said Jordan Criss, commander of the 325th Security Forces Squadron.

Cape Canaveral is located on the Atlantic coast of Florida. In addition to the US Air Force station, the Kennedy Space Center is located here. These sites are used to launch spacecraft.

Recall that in July, the Briton, who lost a hard drive with 7500 BTC, announced his intention to involve two robots from Boston Dynamics in the search.

In October 2021, scientists taught Spot how to interact with nuclear waste at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

In February, the NYPD sent a Boston Dynamics robot to the crime scene. Spot was later “fired” by law enforcement officers due to the backlash from politicians and the public.
