The Government of the Russian Federation instructed the Ministry of Digital Development to develop a plan to provide businesses with access to anonymized data from government agencies for training artificial intelligence algorithms. Writes about it “Kommersant”.

According to the document, by February 1, 2022, the Ministry of Digital Development will prepare and agree on a schedule for providing business with access to data sets from ministries and departments. At the first stage, the data will be opened by the Rosselkhoznadzor, Rosstat, Rosreestr, the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry for the Development of the Far East.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation specified that the schedule will include activities for holding strategic sessions, developing AI standards, publishing the results of technology implementation in federal executive bodies, as well as creating a single repository of data sets and regulations for working with them.

“The draft schedule is being coordinated with the departments,” the ministry said.

In total, in 2021, departments formed 26 datasets, four of which can be used by third-party developers of business solutions. The remaining 22 sets are intended for the internal needs of executive authorities as part of digital transformation.

Recall that in May 2021, the Ministry of Digital Development offered to sell access to state data to developers of neural networks.

In December, the agency announced the conditions for providing access to datasets, including secret ones, for the creators of artificial intelligence systems.
