- Hearings on Thodex crypto exchange case begin in Turkey
- Her clients lost $2 billion
- The head of the company accuses programmers and clients of fraud
Faruk Fetih Ozer, founder of the Turkish crypto exchange Thodex did not recognize guilty of fraud. The other day, a court session was held where the businessman made a speech.
The man said that initially the Thodex platform was created for e-commerce. He moved into the crypto industry in 2017, when little was known about this technology:
“I started mobile transactions with software developers that I added to my team. My whole life has been intertwined with the digital world in order to establish the exchange of cryptocurrencies.
According to the businessman, transactions on the crypto exchange were carried out automatically, without his participation. Therefore, he does not know where the money went, and did not control the movement of capital.
Farouk also said that when registering, all customers sign an agreement that the management is not responsible for any damage. And since users knew about this risk, he is not responsible for the losses.
Recall that Faruk Ozer is accused of stealing customer funds in the amount of $ 2 billion. This is the largest crypto scam in the history of Turkey. The businessman’s situation is complicated by the fact that he has been hiding from the authorities for a long time. The man was detained in Albania last summer and then deported to Turkey. Now the court is deciding whether Ozer is guilty of the collapse of the Thodex platform.
