Cryptocurrency holders should not remain anonymous due to the risks of using such assets for criminal purposes. This was stated by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, writes “Russian newspaper”.
According to him, crypto assets can be used to finance terrorism.
“Therefore, the circulation of digital currency requires further legal regulation – first of all, mandatory identification of users of such currency is necessary,” Bastrykin said.
Recall that in December the head of the Investigative Committee stated that cryptocurrencies should be recognized as property and the procedure for their confiscation should be introduced into the legislation.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office announced the preparation of norms that will allow recognizing digital assets as a crime and seizing them.
