At the Bitcoin2023 conference was exhibited for sale the first car purchased for 1000 BTC. The auction will end on May 20 at 11 p.m. ET.
This legendary car was bought in 2013 for 1000 bitcoins. At that time, the cost of the car was $22,000. At the peak of the BTC value, the car was valued at $48 million.
It has been at the Bitcoin2023 exhibition since May 18th. Conference participants can take part in an online auction on Scarce.City, having the opportunity to become the owner of this historical artifact of the bitcoin revolution.
Prius was also signed by well-known bitcoiners, among them Ton Weiss, Andreas Antonopoulos, David Ripley, Russa, Samson Maw, Lin Ulbricht, Johnny Dolar, Pepnardo, Erica Gemma, Scott Talon, Bruce Fenton. And recently it was signed by the CEO of BTC Inc. and Bitcoin Magazine David Bailey. He declared:
“This car is an important part of Bitcoin history. As far as I remember, this was the first real, serious purchase for bitcoins. It wasn’t just a Papa Johns pizza, it was a significant purchase.”
Bailey also stated that he would like to own this car himself and keep it in the bitcoin museum.
