- BTC barely reacted to this decision
The United States Federal Reserve is raising interest rates again. As predicted, the rate was raised by 0.25 basis points and now stands at 5.25%.
Today’s increase of 0.25% is the 10th in a row. Many expected such a decision from the central bank, but investors will be looking at the speech of Chairman Jerome Powell, which will begin at 21:30 Kyiv time. Most likely, he will talk about the banking crisis, as well as talk about inflation itself. You can read about the results of the press conference in our next news.
The Fed is still sticking to its strategy and is aiming to bring inflation down to its 2% target. However, things are not so simple and there are many macroeconomic aspects. It is likely that the Federal Reserve will consider suspending interest rate hikes at its next meeting.
