The current crisis in the cryptocurrency industry has weeded out those who do not belong in it and who “abused opportunities”. This opinion was expressed by the American rapper Snoop Dogg in an interview with CNBC.
According to him, the negative phenomena in the long run will bring “some benefit.”
“I think every great industry has a downturn, every industry you can look at there is always a depression,” said Snoop Dogg.
The rapper added that the big record labels would inevitably enter the Web3 and NFT segments because “they all” turned to him for advice.
“Sooner or later the labels will have to intervene. They will have to sit down at the table and understand that, you know, their catalogs and the things they store serve better on the blockchain,” added Snoop Dogg.
His words are confirmed by the emerging trend among the major representatives of the industry. Earlier, the Warner Music Group Corporation entered into a partnership with the developer of the NFT game Splinterlands, and Sony Music took part in the investment round of the MakersPlace non-fungible token platform for $30 million.
In November 2021, Universal Music Group unveiled a musical group consisting of “bored monkeys” from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection.
Snoop Dogg also touched on the subject of Twitter. According to the musician, he “would change a lot” in the platform if given the opportunity. The son of the rapper under the pseudonym ChampMedici, who participated in the interview, noted that they are ready to cooperate with Elon Musk if he closes the deal to buy the social network.
Snoop Dogg is a well-known collectible token investor under the pseudonym Cozomo de’ Medici. The rapper has released his own series of NFTs, including a collaboration with Nyan Cat meme creator Chris Torres.
He also announced the creation of digital marijuana farms in the metaverse of the MOBLAND project and the launch of an NFT dessert shop.
In February, the musician announced plans to turn his Death Row Records into the first NFT label.
Recall that on June 24, Snoop Dogg and Eminem released a video in collaboration with BAYC, in which they appeared in the form of animated monkeys.
