The call to stop working with the Russians because of the war in Ukraine was voiced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov to Tether and CTO of the stablecoin issuer Paolo Ardoino.

The company did not make any direct comments, but responded to the publication’s request. CoinDesk:
“Tether is constantly monitoring the market to prevent illegal movements or measures that are contrary to international sanctions.”
Prior to this, Ardoino spoke about the readiness of the USDT stablecoin comply with the restrictions imposed by the US authorities upon receipt of the relevant order.
