About seven out of ten digital asset investors in the US have taken their first steps into the cryptocurrency space in 2021. Such results received Huobi Group analysts.
3,144 U.S. adults took part in the December Cryptocurrency Perception Survey.
As follows from the illustration below, only 9% of respondents had experience in investing in cryptocurrencies of four years or more. 12% of them started operations two to four years ago, one in five (21%) a year or two ago.
41% of respondents got acquainted with digital assets in practice less than six months ago, 27% – in the first half of 2021.
46% of respondents reported that their assets in cryptocurrencies do not exceed $1000, 25% of others have invested the equivalent of $1000-$10,000.
The study made it possible to identify existing barriers to investment. 44% justified small investments with a lack of sufficient knowledge, 34% mentioned the lack of market regulation, and only 24% of respondents noted a lack of sufficient capital.
According to the report, 28% of respondents held part of their capital in cryptocurrencies at the time of the interview. Almost a quarter have set themselves the goal of implementing this in the future.
