Survey: 77% of respondents from Ukraine have a cryptocurrency wallet

The popularity of digital currencies in Ukraine is growing – the inhabitants of the country understand the terminology and actively create crypto wallets. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the research company Gradus Research, the document is at the disposal of the editors of Cryplogger.

The survey was conducted on January 13, 2022 through a questionnaire in a mobile application. 1000 respondents took part in it. Based on this figure, the sample cannot be considered representative.

According to analysts, 20.7% of Ukrainians aged 18 to 24 bought cryptocurrencies and participated in ICO.

More than half of the respondents – 55.9% – know what cryptocurrency is, and 5.1% have already worked with digital assets or blockchain.

The most popular operation of Ukrainians is the opening of a cryptocurrency wallet. This was done by 77% of those associated with the crypto industry.

Every second Ukrainian familiar with digital currencies bought or exchanged them on the stock exchange.

Respondents used cryptocurrencies for games least of all – 18.9%.

Real goods were bought for cryptocurrency by 31.5% of Ukrainians. At the same time, residents of small towns often paid for goods in this way.

Recall that in the ranking of the Global Index of Cryptocurrency Adoption for 2021 from Chainalysis, Ukrainians took 4th place, although in 2020 they were in the lead in the list. The researchers explained the loss of positions by a decrease in the volume of transactions on P2P platforms.

They also found that 87% of all cryptocurrencies sent from Ukraine end up on foreign addresses.
