American magazine Sports Illustrated launches NFT-based ticket service “Box Office by SI Tickets”. This is more than just a site for buying tickets. It will offer brand partnerships, bonus programs and more. In addition to sports matches, there will be tickets for concerts and other events.
Sports Illustrated is an American weekly sports magazine published by Time Warner. The new service was developed in partnership with ConsenSys and runs on the Polygon network.
Note that the Sports Illustrated brand launched the SI Tickets ticketing service back in 2021. These are regular tickets that can be ordered online. But in partnership with ConsenSys and Polygon, the company is offering a new “Super Ticket” format. Such a solution “opens up opportunities for interaction between organizers and visitors before, during and after events.” For example, through Super Ticket, brands can launch their digital collections, promote exclusive offers and loyalty programs.
“Since the launch of SI Tickets, we have sold 50 million tickets to over 250,000 events. Blockchain is the future of ticket sales. Owners, promoters, organizers and attendees now have access to an enhanced experience that turns the legacy barcode into compelling and collectible content.”
Recall that tickets for the 2024 Olympic Games will also be issued on the blockchain.
