Apparently, the “epopee” with Tornado Cash is far from over. It is possible that in the near future the project will be continued. Amin Soleimani, co-founder of SpankChain and Reflex Labs, hinted at this.
The unclear future of the mixer
Recall that last year Tornado Cash came under OFAC sanctions. Moreover, in the Netherlands, the police detained the developer of the service, who is still being held in custody.
He was accused of complicity in money laundering through the resource. The mixer itself in the United States was called almost a nuclear threat. However, the mixer repository is available on GitHub, but for academic purposes only.
Despite this, the site is still actively used. The service is popular due to its decentralization and anonymity.
New project?
As we mentioned above, Amin Soleimani hinted at this. Judging by his “tweet”, we are talking about the “heir” of Tornado Cash. So far, only its name is known about the new project – Privacy Pools v0.
MolochDAO is involved in the development. This community provides grants for the development of various projects based on Ethereum. Soleimani ignored a request for comment from the media.
Note SpankChain is a DEX through which users pay for services in the sex industry. It is not surprising that such a resource is involved in the development of a new mixer.
