The auction date is already known – February 23. The format is a “live” auction in New York.
The organizers have already promised a VIP Punk dinner and a party with DJ Seedphrase for all participants of the auction.
Recall that the CryptoPunks project was launched in 2017 by the Larva Labs team. At the start, there were 10,000 NFT images sized 24×24 pixels. Initially, many non-fungible tokens from this collection were distributed for free.
This is not the first Sotheby’s token auction. Last year was sold a set of 107 NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection from Yuga Labs for $24.4 million. The purchase price significantly exceeded the maximum estimated price of $18 million.
#AuctionUpdate 101 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs just sold for $24.4 million and 101 Bored Ape Kennel Club NFTs achieved $1.8 million in our Ape in! auction – the most significant #BAYC sale to date. Congrats to all the apes out there 🐵🐶 pic.twitter.com/e7UghlgtKy
