Solana Labs announced the opening A 4-story, 25,000-square-foot public office space in New York, USA.
The space is located in Lower Manhattan and is a space for “collaboration and events for projects in the Solana blockchain ecosystem.”
The office opening was attended by New York City officials and senior Solana Labs officials, including co-founder Raj Gokal.
“New York City has what it takes to become a global hub for Web3. There is art, culture, innovation, technology and talent here,” said Andrew Kimball, President and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
According to Gokal, the company is “doubling down on efforts” to ensure that “start-up entrepreneurs have room for creativity and collaboration.”
Solana clarified that they did not buy these office premises, but rented them. Representatives of the organization did not specify the exact price, but added that they signed a contract for ten years.
In February, the company made the decision to close two offline Solana Spaces stores in New York and Miami. Management explained that the project did not attract as many users as originally expected.
Recall that on May 8, sales of the Web3-oriented smartphone Saga from Solana Labs started. The device costs $1,000 and has 512GB of storage, dual rear camera lenses, a 6.67-inch OLED display, and a fingerprint scanner.
