The project uses tags with NFC chips, through which communication and the possibility of blockchain transactions are provided.
According to Shiba Inu lead developer Shitoshi Kusama, the initiative is primarily aimed at verifying the authenticity of products and “enhancing their aesthetic appeal.”
The team reached an agreement with the first client – the manufacturer of sportswear Champion. The tags were produced by Hewlett Packard.

In January, the developers announced the “imminent” launch of the beta version of Shibarium, a second-tier network based on Ethereum. Shibacals NFT authenticators are expected to be used outside of the protocol as well.
Against the backdrop of the announcement, the Shiba Inu token (SHIB) has risen in price by more than 10% in a day. Bitcoin over the same period added about 4% after rising to levels above $30,000. Cryptocurrency market capitalization increased by ~5% (CoinGecko).

Recall that in April 2022, the Shiba Inu team launched the SHIB combustion mechanism.
