United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rejected statement by the management company WisdomTree for the registration of spot bitcoin-ETF.
The agency referred to the lack of agreements on joint supervision and the inability to stop fraudulent or manipulative practices in the spot market.
“The Commission concluded that BZX [альтернативная платформа Чикагской биржи опционов, совместно с которой WisdomTree подала заявку] failed to show that her application complies with the requirements of Section 6 (b) (5) of the law under the securities law and procedural rules “, – the message says.
Similar wording was contained in the SEC’s refusal to list a similar instrument from VanEck.
On December 24, the Commission will consider an application to launch a spot Bitcoin-ETF from Kryptoin. Further – from Valkyrie Digital Assets, SkyBridge Capital with First Trust Advisors, Fidelity Investments, 21Shares with ARK Invest, Global X, Bitwise and Grayscale Investments.
Recall that Grayscale admitted that the SEC violated the law when approving bitcoin futures ETFs.
Prior to that, Bloomberg analysts questioned the regulator’s approval of the spot bitcoin fund previously based on ETFs traded on CME derivative contracts on Ethereum.
