The new application called World App is designed for iOS and Android operating systems. The solution was developed based on the Polygon project and supports USDC and DAI stablecoins, as well as Ethereum (ETH), Worldcoin (WDC) and Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).
The wallet uses the World ID system to distinguish between real people and bots. Users who want to use commission-free transfers must be verified by providing a phone number or providing biometric data.
According to the developers, World App does not disclose information about users, and uses zero-knowledge proof technology to confirm the identity. The application also uses the account abstraction to allow a third party to pay for gas.
Users who do not have a World ID can make transactions in the application, but with a basic fee.
The project is already integrated with some centralized exchanges, including MoonPay and Ramp. Inside the wallet, an asset conversion function is available, which is implemented using DEX Uniswap.
According to Worldcoin, more than 1.6 million people have installed the test version of the application, of which more than 500,000 use it every month. Daily World App processes about 60,000 transactions and conducts more than 25,000 identity verifications.
Recall that in March, the startup introduced the World ID protocol and a software development kit for decentralized biometric identification.
Earlier, Sam Altman offered to pay users for retinal scans.
