Based on the information on the website of Roskomnadzor, the reason for blocking Facebook was the restriction by the social network of access to the accounts of a number of Russian media.
And Twitter was blocked on the basis of Article 15.3 of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation, which provides for such measures against sites “containing calls for riots, extremist activities, participation in mass events.”
Users from Russia March 4 found problems with access to Meduza, BBC, Radio Liberty and Deutsche Welle publications, as well as to Facebook, App Store and Google Play.
