President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele expressed confidence that in 2022 the price of the first cryptocurrency will rise to $100,000.

Bukele also suggested that:
Among other things, the President of El Salvador promised a “big surprise” at the Bitcoin 2022 conference. Event will be held from 6 to 9 April in Miami. In addition to Bukele, it will be attended by:
- Michael Saylor, head of MicroStrategy;
- a modern representative of the Austrian school of economics, Seifedin Ammus;
- Blockstream CEO Adam Back;
- founder of Lightning Labs Elizabeth Stark and other well-known representatives of the crypto industry.
After bitcoin was legalized in September, the Salvadoran government purchased 550 BTC through a specially created fund. Then I bought an additional 150 BTC on the drawdown of the rate to $45,000.
In October, the authorities increased the reserves in the first cryptocurrency by another 420 BTC, again taking advantage of the local rate correction. In November, the state fund purchased 100 BTC.
El Salvador has also started mining cryptocurrency using geothermal volcanic energy. Bukele published the first accrued rewards on 1 October.
Some experts questioned the economic efficiency of mining on the energy of volcanoes.
Recall that the government of El Salvador recently purchased 21 BTC to celebrate “the last 21 days of the 21st year of the 21st century.”
