Polygon Chief Product Officer Anurag Arjun stepped down, buying out the project based on Avail’s scaling solution. This is reported The Block.
The platform launched a testnet in 2022. The initiative was positioned as a data accessibility layer for zero-knowledge evidence-based solutions.
Representatives of Polygon Labs said that Arjun plans to create a separate project based on the above development.
“Over time, the structure [Avail] become a decentralized organization. The timeline for this evolution has not yet been determined, and the first priority is to ensure a smooth separation from Polygon, ”the company noted.
As part of the isolation, Arjun will create a non-profit Avail Foundation. The project will eventually be taken over by the community.
Part of the development team will move to the new organization.
“I have a great relationship with Anurag on a personal level. I could invest in his new venture,” added Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon.
Representatives of the project refused to provide detailed information about the financing and creation of a new token.
Recall that the other day Polygon introduced a domain name service developed in collaboration with Unstoppable Domains.
