Blockchain security company PeckShield has identified several new scams related to the creation of meme tokens.
“We detected a series of ragpools related to the creation of ~24 fraudulent tokens in the last 10 days”
The following tokens were blacklisted: SHITMEME, BENS, WorldCoin, MONKEYS, ERDR, Magneto, STARK, ZAT, LADYBOY, USACOIN, WLD, POGO, Miniclip, PORN, FROGS, RNDT, PSYOP, POPCAP, FOG, TEMU, TINDER, TAGGED and SEI. The last one was created about 3 hours ago and was recently liquidated. PeckShield explained that the scammers first spent 5.19 ETH from the OKX exchange to pump the price of the token and then drained the pool.
It is worth recalling that on May 15, PeckShield named 14 new fake coin coins created by the same gang of crypto scammers. According to the company, over the past three days serial scammers have released the following meme-moneys: 2 PEPEPE, LADYS, BENZ, GGBOND, BENEN, NEWPEPE, PEN, TURBOO, PEPELOL.
During the scam, the criminals have already transferred about 12 ETH to the MEXC exchange and hold about 20 ETH at 2 addresses.
