“Adding support for assets like this makes sense. This will be a key element of user interaction with Web3“, said in an interview with The Block OKX Chief Innovation Officer Jason Lau.

The top manager acknowledged the instability of the current hype around Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens.

“There is a lot of work to be done to make sure that [рост] will remain. One issue we’re watching is that there are some differences of opinion in the bitcoin community. — What will it eventually lead to? he explained.

Lau also touched upon the topic of discussing the fork of the first cryptocurrency.

“There are rumors about a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain. Some people don’t want that kind of activity. We are monitoring this and believe that these transactions [c BRC-20 и Ordinals] legitimate. They comply with the network rules and conditions, and there is nothing wrong with them.he explained.

In May 2023, the team associated with the OmniBOLT project announced that they were working on integrating BRC-20 tokens into the Lightning Network “for faster and more efficient transactions.”

Recently, Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dash Jr proposed to “ban” the BRC-20 and Ordinals tokens.

Recently, the number of active bitcoin addresses has dropped to 2021 levels. Analysts at The Block attributed the trend to high commissions.
