- They plan to open their representative office in the region
- And hire a staff of 100 people
Crypto exchange OKX filed in France, an application for the status of Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP). The documents will be reviewed by the regulators Autorité des Marchés Financiers and Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR).
The plans indicate that the company will open a regional center in France in the next 3 years and hire 100 new employees. There are already 74 crypto firms registered in this country. Binance opened an office in Paris last year and hired 150 employees.
Representatives of OKX reported that it would take approximately 6 months to obtain a license. Next, the company will start hiring staff. This year they plan to hire 30 specialists.
Note that France is a member state of the European Union. Last month, the EU passed the Crypto Asset Markets Act (MiCA). This means that crypto firms that have received approval in one country will be opened in other countries of the Eurozone according to a simplified procedure. But first, candidates must pass verification according to MiCA standards.
Last month, the French regulator AMF put forward the idea of automatically transferring all companies that have already received documents in the country to MiCA licensing.
The OKX exchange is gradually expanding its presence in different parts of the world.
They recently applied for registration in Hong Kong and opened their office here. At the same time, the company has tightened some KYC requirements.
