Japanese car brand Nissan acknowledged the huge potential of blockchain technology in shaping the future of business. Therefore, the company is going to conduct test sales in the metaverse.

On March 7, Nissan filed for four new Web3-related trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The company said the pilot program will partner with Decentraland, a virtual environment that makes it easier for customers to buy, sell and build on virtual land.

The brand also plans to launch a platform where users can view various images and online videos, listen to audio and music. Added to these services is a website that provides information about the company’s NFTs and how they operate. In addition, Nissan wants to create a digital wallet.

Last week, Nissan Japan announced it was testing a virtual store called Nissan Hype Lab. It will last from March 8 to June 30, 2023 and users will be able to use the platform 24 hours a day.

The pilot program is expected to be launched later this year.
