- The platform will solve user experience problems
- It should act as a common layer for browsing Web 3 products.
Near Protocol releases new blockchain operating system. It will focus on improving the Web3 user experience with a common layer for viewing open web resources. This means that developers will be able to embed their products into the platform, and customers will be able to view all products on one service.
According to Near co-founder Ilya Polosukhin, the platform should act as a common layer for viewing Web 3 products. This list includes crypto exchanges, NFT platforms and social networks.
“iOS gives developers a place to showcase their app in front of billions of users and also provides them with all the services they need to build. This is what we are trying to do. Our protocol saw 10x growth in key metrics last year, including the number of transactions, active wallets, projects, developers, and money invested in the ecosystem.”
Currently, the Near protocol is ranked 35th in the list of the largest blockchains by market capitalization, which is about $1.96 billion.
The platform will try to solve some user experience problems in the Web3 space. Today it is difficult for users to find a single place to view applications, there is no search mechanism or way to navigate between them.
Polosukhin is also one of the developers of the Unchain Fund, which was created in 2022 to help Ukrainians. As of early 2023, over $9 million in crypto donations have been raised.
