Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Dagestan stopped the work of several mining farms illegally connected to the power grid. About this with reference to the press service of the regional department writes TASS.

During the searches, the security forces seized 4343 ASIC miners with a total value of over 500 million rubles.

One of the farms functioned on the territory of the trolleybus depot in Makhachkala. In the Kizlyarsky district, the Electron company organized the operation of a mining hotel for 3,000 devices, paying for electricity at a tariff for individuals. Another mining hotel was set up in the village of Novoe Gadari on the basis of an agro-industrial complex.

Data: FSB for the Republic of Dagestan.

According to experts, the total capacity of illegally consumed electricity was about 8 MWh. Now the equipment is sealed, for its storage the security forces needed 13 wagons.

The exact amount of damage will be determined by Dagenergo specialists.

Recall that in November 2021, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation stated that mining does not apply to domestic needs, therefore, the electricity consumed for it should not be paid at a preferential rate for the population.

At the end of December, Russian regions received the right to set electricity tariffs for the population, depending on consumption volumes, in accordance with amendments to a government decree.
