- Bitcoin Maximalist Appraises New Technology Positively
- It warns of speculation
The Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens have been causing a lot of controversy in the last couple of weeks. On the one hand, the technology has become hype and attracts many users to the cryptocurrency ecosystem. On the other hand, mass trading has caused transaction fees to skyrocket. It has gotten to the point where some developers are proposing to ban Ordinals and BRC-20 from the Bitcoin network.
Michael Saylor is a dedicated bitcoin maximalist. However, he doesn’t share the hate towards Ordinals and BRC-20. By opinion businessman, new formats have a positive impact on the development of the Bitcoin network.
On the other hand, many of the early startups are “not very serious” and serve speculation. That is, the question comes down to the use case of the technology.
“You can use them to tokenize all stocks and ETFs traded on the NASDAQ. People would then be able to personally hold their shares instead of leaving them under lock and key with a centralized custodian. If such a project appeared, bitcoiners would like it.”
Like many cryptans, Sailor believes it’s best to let the free market work. People should invest in what they believe in. They are also free to criticize something if they think it’s stupid. But it would be wrong to completely ban technology..
“Do I think we need to change the protocol to censor certain transactions? My answer is no.”
Earlier, Sailor shared his opinion on whether mining is harmful to the environment.
