- The platform will support the ActivityPub protocol
- You only need to have an Instagram account to access it.
- Also in the application there will be verification and reposting by analogy with the same functions of Twitter
Meta is working on a standalone text content sharing application. Apparently, this is a decentralized social network with ActivityPub support. It is on this protocol that the Mastodon application, a direct competitor to Twitter, operates.
The portal reports money control with reference to his source in the company. Meta later confirmed the rumors, noting the following:
“We are exploring an autonomous decentralized social network for text messaging. This is a promising project in which users, including public figures and politicians, will be able to share the latest news and relevant information.”
The P92 division is engaged in development. And, judging by the insider, the project will be closely linked to Instagram. The user will even be able to enter a new social network using his account from this resource.
The platform is still in the planning stage. It’s too early to talk about specific functionality and capabilities. But, apparently, the verification system will be the same as that used by Twitter (blue checkmarks).
Interestingly, the application will be distributed in accordance with Meta’s privacy policy. And especially for him, the company is preparing an update for this section.
We previously reported that Meta would be releasing a new version of Horizon Worlds. And this is with catastrophic losses from the project. It remains to be hoped that the new idea of the company will be more successful.
