Email marketing service Mailchimp is closing accounts associated with cryptocurrencies. Among those whose accounts are closed are Messari, Edge Wallet and Decrypt.

“Mailchimp has suspended Messari’s email account for no reason,” said Ryan Selkis, co-founder of the analytics firm.
Sea Richads from the Ethereum Foundation also reported that access to the account was closed without any prior notice and explanation of the reasons.
In addition Decrypt informsthat the disconnect from the service that the publication has been using for the past four years occurred without warning.
The words Decrypt Editor-in-Chief Daniel Roberts, the platform has recently blocked a number of crypto mailings from other projects, including representatives of the NFT sphere.
The CTO account of Cryptoon Goonz, the company behind the collection of tokens of the same name, Jess Friedland was banned by the platform on August 5. The letter he received from Mailchimp said:
“We cannot allow a business to engage in the sale, transaction, trade, exchange, storage, marketing, or creation of cryptocurrencies and any digital assets.”

Access to the mailing list and the NFT artist under the pseudonym Ocarina is closed. The problem arose on August 1st. When asked why, she was told that “industry-related content is against the service’s acceptable use policy.”
Edge Wallet experienced problems accessing their account on the platform on August 8th. The CEO of the company, Paul Puei, suggested that the wave of blocking of representatives of the crypto industry is more likely connected with a personal decision of someone from the management, and with US Department of the Treasury sanctions against Tornado Cash mixer just coincidentally.
“Dear Mailchimp team, thank you for removing some of the respected crypto brands from the platform in the last 48 hours, including Messari and Decrypt. You confirm our point – Mailchimp and all freedom of speech censors must be destroyed, ”Selkis wrote the latest events.
