  • The option will open after the launch of Lido V2
  • The team will announce this on May 15
  • Lido will also offer a quick withdrawal in 3 days

The most famous staking platform Lido has announced that the Lido V2 version will go live after the end of voting. It starts on Friday May 12th.

A Lido V2 update:

The final on-chain vote for the V2 upgrade is scheduled for this Friday, May 12th.

If no last-minute findings are surfaced and the vote is successful, Lido V2 will be live after the vote enactment on May 15th 🏝️

— Lido (@LidoFinance) May 8, 2023

If there are no “surprises” and the majority of votes is “for”, then the voting will end on Monday, May 15th. After that, the V2 protocol will be launched.

The vote will last 3 days and conclude on Monday, May 15th.

Following a successful vote, stakers can expect the following:

⚡Direct in-protocol stETH:ETH withdrawals.
⚡Staking router architecture, paving the way for new staking modules.

— Lido (@LidoFinance) May 8, 2023

Recall that this version unlocks the direct output of stETH:ETH in the protocol. It will also offer a new architecture and staking modules.

The provider will offer access to 270,000 ETH in their vault. This will allow initial withdrawal requests to be completed without a lengthy exit process from the validator.

ETH in the Withdrawals vault is utilised to fulfil withdrawal requests and is restaked when the queue is empty.

Post-upgrade, the ~270k ETH in the vault will be available, enabling the fulfilment of initial withdrawal requests without a lengthy validator exit process.

— Lido (@LidoFinance) May 8, 2023

In practice, this means that withdrawal requests will be processed within 3 days.

Practically speaking, this means that withdrawal requests are likely to be serviced more quickly during the first 3 days.

For comparison, on some sites you need to wait in line for withdrawal from 2 weeks or longer.

Lido was reminded that this scheme will work if the voters approve it.

Lido is the largest ETH liquid staking protocol. Its total value locked (TVL) is $11.2 billion.
