South Korean electronics company LG Electronics plans to get patent protection for a TV that will allow customers to trade NFTs.
The company said in a statement that the device will be able to establish a connection with the NFT market server. The tech giant launched an NFT marketplace on its TVs back in September last year. Then users could buy tokens through the TV. Now, in addition to trading, they will be able to receive and display previous illustrations and make purchases through the user’s cryptocurrency wallet, which will be connected to the TV.
The filing of a patent indicates that the demand for NFTs is constantly growing, and LG Electronics sees fit to make them more affordable.
In March 2023, the tech giant rewrote the corporate charter and switched to blockchain. Three months later, the company launched a cryptocurrency wallet based on Hedera, and then launched an NFT marketplace.
