By 2023, Iran plans to be among the top 10 countries in the field of artificial intelligence, according to the new national AI strategy. Writes about it Tehran Times.
According to the head of the Center for Innovation and Development of Artificial Intelligence at the Research Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Shahram Moein, the development of the national roadmap began a year ago and was officially completed by the end of November 2021.
“When developing the strategy, strategic documents of 23 countries in the field of artificial intelligence were evaluated so that areas such as the environment, healthcare, transport, online education, energy, robotics, industry, agriculture, security development were among the priority areas for the development of AI” , he said.
Moyne added that among the goals of the strategy are to meet the country’s needs in research by 80%, increase the share of artificial intelligence in industry to 45%, in GDP to 12%, and also allocate $ 8 billion for the development of the industry.
The document contains 47 micro-policies, 39 general actions and 155 projects and events. The 14 macro policies aim to support AI products, create a base for technology development, strengthen companies in this field, and use artificial intelligence to solve super complex problems, Moyin said.
Recall that in September 2021, the UK approved an artificial intelligence development strategy to compete with the United States and China.
That same month, the US government formed an AI committee to advise President Joe Biden and other federal agencies.
In March, the Chinese authorities adopted a five-year plan to achieve technological dominance, including in the field of artificial intelligence.
