The Venom Foundation has teamed up with DoraHacks, Developer DAO and Hacken to launch their first virtual hackathon. The purpose of the event is to provide developers with all the tools and resources they need to start creating projects on the Venom blockchain (1 BC chain licensed from Abu Dhabi Global Market and aimed at accelerating the development of global Web3 projects). Registration began on April 27, and the start of the hackathon is scheduled for May 8.
The hackathon will take place after the launch of the Venom testnet, which went live a few days ago. This is an important event that will encourage a new influx of users and developers. In addition, the testnet will allow developers to test and debug dApps and blockchain protocols, and provide users with an experience with these dApps. The ultimate goal of the testnet is to promote innovation and community building within the ecosystem. This will pave the way for more meaningful events, and the hackathon will be the first of many.
Participants will be given the opportunity to develop a project based on three areas:
1) Web3, NFT and games
2) DeFi
3) tools and infrastructure
During the hackathon, master classes will take place that will last several days and will cover a number of key topics – how to create a smart contract, create an irreplaceable TIP-4 token, connect the dApp interface to Venom, and the like. Participants’ results are checked within five weeks.
On June 17, the top three winners in each category will be announced, with the first-place winners each receiving $30,000.
First place winners in all three categories will also receive a free security audit from Hacken. Teams will also be selected and will each receive $3,000. The total prize pool of the hackathon is $225,000, which is the combined value of cash prizes, security checks, and other bonuses.
Participation in the hackathon is free. You can register here – https://hackathon.venom.network
