A pilot project for the integration of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into the Instagram social network is planned by Meta Corporation as early as next week. This is reported CoinDeskciting their own sources.
Meta is now planning to add support for NFTs based on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and Flow to Instagram. There is no exact information whether the platform will work with all these networks at the first stage.
Testing of the new feature will be carried out for a limited group of users from the United States.
In addition, journalists reported that Meta can connect Instagram with popular digital wallets like MetaMask. According to the announcement, the platform will not charge users fees for hosting and exchanging NFTs.
Recall, for the first time, about the plans integrate NFT into Facebook and Instagram became known in January 2022. In March 2022, the head of the corporation, Mark Zuckerberg, stated that the function of creating an NFT may appear on Instagram as early as “in the coming months”.
