In Cohasset, Massachusetts, police are looking for 39-year-old Nadeem Nahas. His accuse that he secretly organized a mining farm in the basement of a local school and stole electricity.
The investigation into this case began in 2021. The school principal accidentally discovered communications, computers and ASICs, after which he asked a friend of the “IT specialist” to look into the situation.
He said that a whole mining farm operates in the basement of the school. At the same time, the installations were connected to the school’s power grid, and the whole system worked quite efficiently for some time.
Nadeem himself was on the staff of the Cohasset Public Utilities Authority. Apparently, this is how he got access to the wiring and the basement at the school.
“Farm” worked from April to December 2021. All this time it was connected to the institution’s power grid, and the loss of the school’s budget amounted to about $18,000.
How much Nadim earned is unknown. Shortly after the police discovered the “farm”, he quit his job and disappeared. Due to bureaucratic delays, the court started the proceedings only recently.
According to the summons, he did not appear, and the police issued a warrant for his arrest. Nadeem’s current whereabouts are unknown. We have previously reported similar cases. So, for example, the underground “farm” was created by employees of “Ukrzaliznytsia”. And in Kazakhstan, the “IT specialist” fell into slavery at such an object.
