In 2021, global spending on AI exceeded 20%

In 2021, global revenue from sales of AI products amounted to $383.3 billion, according to International Data Corporation (IDC) researchers, this is a 20.7% increase from the previous year.

In 2021, spending on AI equipment amounted to about $18.8 billion. However, this sector showed the fastest growth – 38.9% compared to 2020. $15.6 billion was the share of sale of servers.

The total value of the AI ​​services market increased by 22.4% compared to 2020, to $24 billion. At the same time, services in the field of information technology brought $18.8 billion, showing an increase of 21.9%.

In 2022, analysts expect the AI ​​market to grow to $450 billion.

In a 2021 report, IDC researchers projected a 15.2% growth in AI spending, to $341.8 billion.

“Across industries and functions, consumer-facing organizations are discovering the benefits of AI as more powerful systems enable better decision making and increased productivity,” said Rasmus Andsbjerg, vice vice president of data and analytics at IDC.

Recall that in March 2021, KPMG researchers revealed that the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the deployment of AI systems.

In November, 2021 analysts of Gartner predicted growth of the market of the software for artificial intelligence to $62.5 billion.
