- Terra co-founder pleads not guilty
- Allegedly, he issued a passport through an intermediary and did not even suspect that it was fake
- He also tried to shield his comrade Han Chang-jun
On Friday, June 16, hearings were held in Podgorica on the case of the detention of Do Kwon and his comrade Han Chang-Jun. During the proceedings, the co-founder of Terra stated that he did not know about the fake passport and issued documents on the recommendation.
Do Kwon notedthat received the papers through the agency:
“I turned to an intermediary, filled out all the documents and received a Costa Rican passport. This agency was recommended to me by a friend.
The co-founder of Terra said he was unaware of the fake. Allegedly, he would not travel the world with fake documents. Do Kwon also tried to get papers in Grenada and Belgium.
In the second case he succeeded, but in the first he did not. But he also submitted both applications through agencies. When the court asked the defendant to provide the name of the intermediary firm, Do Kwon replied that he did not remember it.
At the end of his speech, he tried to shield Han Chang-jun:
“If you want to punish someone, then send me to prison alone.”
Do Kwon’s performance did not impress the prosecution too much. The prosecutor’s office demanded the maximum punishment for both defendants, since the papers, regardless of their origin, were drawn up with criminal intent.
Recall that the court extended Do Kwon’s pre-trial detention for six months. At that time, the issue of his extradition will be decided. As for the charges of trying to cross the border on fake papers, the verdict will be announced today, June 19, in the afternoon.
