On June 2, cybercriminals hacked a Twitter account CTO OpenAI Murati Worlds for spreading fake token giveaways.

The post contained a phishing link that led to a completely copied ChatGPT AI bot site. Users were lured by the distribution of the OPENAI token, allegedly created on the Ethereum network.
The post author has restricted comments so the community has not been able to directly warn about the scam.
One user suggested that CTO OpenAI was the victim of a SIM spoof.
We don’t know what’s going on yet (SIM attack?)
But NO WAY this is really Mira. This is a scam. https://t.co/zlp4SsR41l

An analyst from blockchain security company Beosin said in an interview with Cointelegraphthat the fake site has built-in tools to hack a crypto wallet that “lures visitors into signing requests.”
“After the request is signed, the attacker transfers NFTs and ERC-20 coins from the victim’s wallet,” the expert explained.
Murati’s account has about 126,200 followers. The tweet stayed in the feed for a little over an hour, during which time it was reposted 83 times.
Recall that on May 26, unknown people gained control of the Twitter account of Artur Madrid, CEO of The Sandbox metaverse, to spread phishing. They disguised it as a fake SAND token giveaway.
In March, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire warned the community that the profile of the company’s chief strategy officer, Dante Disparte, had been hacked. The attacker posted a post that talked about a “one-time airdrop bonus” for USDC holders.
In April, a hacker took control of the KuCoin crypto exchange account, resulting in a loss of $22,628 among users.
