About $21 million was stolen from the decentralized cross-chain exchange Transit Swap as a result of a hacker attack. An attacker exploited an error in the service’s smart contract.

“According to the analysis of on-chain data, Transit Swap was attacked by a hacker. The technical team urgently stopped the service and the smart contract, no operations [на платформе] cannot be fulfilled,” the statement said.
But soon the project team reported that the hacker reimbursed 70% of the stolen funds. The attacker was offered to contact the developers.

Analysts estimated the total value of the stolen assets at about $21 million. The developers noted that SlowMist and other companies specializing in the security of blockchain services were involved in the investigation of the incident.
“Now we have more verified information like the hacker’s IP address, email and affiliate addresses on the blockchain. We will try our best to track down the hacker, contact him and help everyone recover their losses,” Transit Swap said.
