There was so much great news this week that it took a second review to find out the latest news related to non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
FLUF World and Snoop Dogg do charity work
FLUF World, Studio Beyond VR and Snoop Dogg have teamed up to raise over $1 million in a one-day NFT charity auction on behalf of the nonprofit Kiwi Auckland City Mission.
Seven FLUF World NFTs were paired with seven limited edition Snoop Dogg style Burrows developed by Beyond and sold on OpenSea. The partnership with the rapper included the studio release of 500 Snoop Dogg, which was announced last week.
What.. fluff. Over NZ$1 million was raised in just 12 hours on our @SnoopDogg Burrow & Fluf auction for @AKcitymission. We are delighted. Thanks to our partner @beyondvrgames, everyone who has generously donated and everyone who tuned in to show their support. We love you all ❤️ pic.twitter.com/0C1aYM3Vg5 — FLUF (@FLUF_World) January 20, 2022
Non-Fungible Labs, which owns FLUF World, made its first $100,000 Christmas donation to the Oakland City Mission last month. In the same way that Fluf avatars can find a home in the Burrows in the metaverse, Aukland City Mission helps local residents in need of housing.
Adidas Originals
Adidas Originals launches adidas for Prada Resources in collaboration with digital artist Zack Lieberman on SuperRare. Most of the proceeds from NFT sales will be donated to Slow Factory, a non-profit organization and institution dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.
Adidas and Prada are inviting their communities to share anonymous photos in the open-Metaverse NFT project. 3,000 community-created artworks will be selected and minted as NFTs. Digital artist Zack Lieberman will then compile the tiled images into a single, mass-produced NFT patchwork design. Participants will retain full ownership of their individual NFT tiles.

UNICEF celebrates 75th anniversary with NFT collection
On the eve of UNICEF’s 75th anniversary, the UN children’s agency launched its largest NFT collection of 1,000 data to support Internet connectivity in schools. So far, $740,000 has been raised.
The first 1,000 copies of the NFT raised $550,000, while a limited edition pre-sale and four more copies last week at an auction in St. Moritz raised $140,000. UNICEF also entered into an agreement with secondary auction platforms to receive a 20% royalty on all future sales, generating an additional $50,000 in one week, according to the organization. This royalty structure could allow UNICEF to continue raising funds for its Giga Connect Schools through Resale initiative in the coming years.

WAX to issue 10 million NFTs
WAX recently reached 11 million wallet accounts on the WAX platform and decided to celebrate by giving away a total of 10 million free NFT collectibles to the first 10 million wallet holders. This is the biggest drop in NFTs to date and is expected to lead to zero carbon emissions, the company said.
Free NFTs span 10 different digital contacts, each celebrating a different moment in WAX history. From its mainnet launch in 2019 to the launch of the WAX Cloud Wallet and collaborations with AMC and Spider-Man.

Other great news
Social media also made headlines in the NFT this week. Meta is reportedly planning to integrate NFTs into Facebook and Instagram profiles so that their users can display their NFTs. Meta may also be discussing the launch of an NFT trading platform.
Twitter, on the other hand, has announced the release of hexagonal NFT avatars. For now, access is limited to paying Twitter Blue subscribers using iOS, which costs $2.99 per month. However, Twitter users were quick to point out that anyone can simply right-click and save any NFT from their Twitter profile, mint it, and then use it as their avatar.
