Google introduced a number of AI functions for office and cloud services
Google has introduced a range of AI tools for Workspace and Cloud customers. The corporation also shared information about healthcare initiatives.
Generative AI Tools for Workspace Apps help users in Docs to generate text based on a short hint. In the future, AI will be taught to check and rewrite documents, as well as come up with interesting ideas.
In Gmail, the technology will be able to expand a small email or shorten a long one, make it more formal in tone, or turn the text into a bulleted list.
During the demonstration, the company showedHow cloud service customers can use AI to create presentations and sales training documents, generate notes for video calls, and write emails to colleagues.
Google has given developers access to some of the underlying algorithms so they can create their own applications based on the company’s technologies.
Also the company at The Check Up event told about AI solutions for ultrasound diagnostics, cancer care and tuberculosis screening. In addition, the tech giant introduced the Med-PaLM 2 algorithm for answering medical questions.
Cruise to test unmanned shuttles in Texas
In the coming weeks, Cruise will launch testing the Origin robot taxi on public roads in Austin (Texas, USA).
Autonomous electric shuttles do not have a steering wheel, pedals or driver’s seat.
The drones will be available to customers “in a few months,” according to the company.
LinkedIn implemented GPT algorithms in the social network
LinkedIn professional networking platform introduced AI tools based on GPT algorithms for filling out profiles and creating job descriptions.
The first function uses the GPT-4 language model. It parses the user account for information about skills and experience, and then generates text for the About and Headline sections. The tool also offers recommendations that can “highlight” a profile among others.
The feature will roll out to all LinkedIn Premium users in the coming months.
The second tool is based on GPT-3.5. Employers need to provide basic information like job title and company name, after which the AI will generate a job description. If necessary, the recruiter will be able to edit the text.
Microsoft announces date for Build 2023 conference
May 23-25 Microsoft will hold Build 2023 annual conference.
The company is expected to make a number of announcements related to Windows 11, as well as AI-enhanced Bing and Edge.
The event will take place in a hybrid format. Online broadcast is available to everyone after passing registration.
New version of Midjourney introduced
The developers of Midjourney have updated the AI generator of images by text to the fifth version.
Starting today our community can test Midjourney V5. It has much higher image quality, more diverse outputs, wider stylistic range, support for seamless textures, wider aspect ratios, better image prompting, wider dynamic range and more. Let’s explore!
— Midjourney (@midjourney) March 15, 2023
The developers have improved the detail of the pictures and the creation of eyes, faces, hands and teeth by the algorithm. They also expanded the dynamic and stylistic ranges, increased the image resolution to 1024×1024 pixels, and increased the generation speed.
In addition, midjourney V5 will offer users two illustrations with different styles in the preliminary stage.
Samsung accused of using AI to fake images of the moon
Internet users accused Samsung of falsifications photos of the moon with Galaxy Ultra smartphones in Space Zoom mode.
Redditor ibreakphotos downloaded a high resolution image of the satellite, scaled it down to 170×170 pixels and applied a Gaussian blur.
Then he opened the picture on the computer monitor, turned off the light and took a picture using the Space Zoom function.
As a result, the flagship produced a high-quality detailed picture.
According to the redditor, Samsung uses an AI algorithm to display craters and other elements in places that are “just a blurry mess.”
The company replied that the Space Zoom mode really uses neural networks to improve the image and described the details of the function.
Microsoft Introduces Image Generator in Visual ChatGPT Chat
Microsoft introduced Visual ChatGPT AI tool for generating and editing images right in the chat. Project source code available on GitHub.
The technology combines the ChatGPT chatbot and Visual Foundation models. The tool allows users to create pictures based on a text query and then edit them, such as changing the color or deleting certain objects.
Visual ChatGPT remembers the context and can generate new illustrations based on previously created ones.
Unofficial Chrome extension for ChatGPT stole user data
intruders stole data from over 2000 users through the ChatGPT Chrome extension. They also gained access to business accounts on Facebook.
Quick access to ChatGPT could be installed from the Google Chrome store from March 3 to March 9. The extension provided quick access to the chatbot by connecting to the API, but it also stole user data.
Cybersecurity company Guardio discovered that Quick access to ChatGPT was collecting all the cookies stored in the browser. The extension also stole authenticated session tokens from Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
This allowed the scammers to gain access to the Meta Graph API for building Facebook-compatible applications. As a result, they were able to use user accounts and perform actions on their behalf.
When business accounts were detected, the extension collected data on active promotions, balances, minimum billing thresholds, and credit opportunities.
GPT-4 pretended to be “blind” and tricked a person into captcha
During testing, the GPT-4 model is tricked forced an employee on TaskRabbit to complete a captcha for her.
Before launching the OpenAI neural network checked the ability of the system to demonstrate agent-based behavior and “striving for power”. The developers asked the algorithm to hire an employee on the TaskRabbit platform, which allows them to search for performers to solve everyday and business tasks.
GPT-4 sent a message to a person asking them to solve a captcha for her. The worker jokingly asked if the customer was a robot.
According to OpenAI, the model gave the testers “reasoning” that it cannot admit and must come up with an excuse for not being able to solve the captcha.
As a result, the algorithm wrote “I have poor eyesight, so it’s hard for me to see the image.” The TaskRabbit worker agreed to complete the task.
ChatGPT wrote the script for the episode of “South Park”
ChatGPT has written the script for the latest episode of the animated series South Park.
The plot centers on fourth grader Stan Marsh, who uses a chatbot to write essays and romantic texts for his girlfriend. As a result, this led to conflicts between him, his classmates and the school administration.
Chatbot also indicated as a co-author of the series.
