The pilot project implemented within the framework of the regulatory sandbox provides for the introduction of blockchain-based NFT certificates to confirm ownership of names in the “.uz” domain zone.
As representatives of the NAPP explained, it is the “Single Integrator – UZINFOCOM” that will issue non-fungible tokens on the blockchain.
“The introduction of this technology is aimed at strengthening the protection and guarantee of the rights of domain name owners, ensuring greater transparency and reliability of information about them,” the agency added.
According to the current legislation, individuals can issue NFT through a crypto-depository or other electronic platforms provided for by order NAPP.
Recall that during 2022, the authorities of Uzbekistan adopted a number of laws regulating the cryptocurrency market.
In particular, the rules for licensing and trading on crypto-exchanges were approved, and the procedure for issuing and circulating digital assets was outlined. In addition, miners and service providers related to cryptocurrencies have started paying monthly fees.
Cryplogger previously reported that in 2022, five licensed crypto companies in Uzbekistan paid over $310,000 to the budget.
