
Fidelity Digital Assets, the cryptocurrency arm of investment giant Fidelity Investments, received in the UK license FCA to carry out transactions with digital assets.
The regulator also registered the firm as an anti-money laundering (MLR) compliant entity.
Against this backdrop, Fidelity Digital Assets announced on cooperation with the provider of lending services secured by cryptocurrencies Nexo.
According to the statement, the partners will develop “a comprehensive suite of products and related infrastructure for institutional investors wishing to access digital assets.”
Fidelity Digital Asset will act as custodian and collateral agent.
Nexo expects the partnership to help the firm “build an institutional-grade platform for storing digital assets and strengthen its security infrastructure.”
Recall that in November a branch of the Kraken bitcoin exchange received an FCA license.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao also announced the company’s plans to get approval from the UK regulator.
