
For the second time in the last 24 hours, an unknown error occurred in the Ethereum blockchain, in which transactions could not be finalized for some time.
According to the data beaconcha.inbetween epochs 200751 to 200758 there was a sharp decrease in confirmed transactions – up to 30%.

At the time of writing, finalization on the Ethereum network has been restored. The transactions didn’t stop.
The developers of the Prysm Ethereum client have released an urgent update. It contains an optimization to prevent high resource usage by a node during periods of “turbulence”.
We are announcing v4.0.3-hotfix. This release contains the optimization to prevent the beacon node from high resource usage during turbulent times. It is highly recommended to upgrade if your node is under heavy usage.

A new Prysm client update is scheduled for early next week. The developers specified that they will test the changes over the weekend.
Recall that on May 11, a similar error occurred in the Ethereum network in the period from epochs 200552 to 200554.
