Tesla’s humanoid robots will be able to compensate for the low birth rate and prevent the collapse of civilization. Elon Musk said this during a speech at the Wall Street Journal conference.

Answering the questions of the journalist, the businessman commented on the current labor shortage. He suggested that Tesla Bot could replace human labor in the future.

“The basis of the economy is labor. […] There are not enough people. I believe that one of the biggest threats to civilization is the low and rapidly falling birth rate, ”Musk said.

The billionaire reiterated that Tesla can be considered a robotic company in terms of software. Their self-driving cars are like four-wheeled robots using AI to navigate the real world, he said.

“To build a humanoid, we need to develop some configurable actuators and sensors – essentially using Full Self-Driving and Autopilot in a humanoid robot,” Musk added.

The businessman did not report the timing of the appearance of Tesla robots.
